Welcome to the  Mining Communities United Website!

The Mining Communities United Inc (MCU) Group is a community representative group established for the purpose of making representation on behalf of the community to 3 levels of Government, the Mining Industry and other stakeholders important to the social wellbeing of the town.

The aim of MCU is to work with the community through effective & inclusive communication to ENHANCE quality of life and general wellbeing of our town.

People living in Collinsville have a fire in their belly, which is why there is a sense of community identity in this town and we will not stand by and let the town suffer while it is being ravaged for profit.

Collinsville is a staunch Labor Party voting town. At one of our town community meetings a vote of “No Confidence” was passed against any further support or vote for the Labor Party, as we all feel that we have been overlooked & our pleas for help have been ignored.

We are asking the Government, at State & Federal levels to take some positive actions & show us that we count.

We need them to take action & support our communities that are being affected by the massive impact of this resource boom.

We need representation that truly represents our needs as a community, rather than the needs of the Multi-Nationals – who are putting very little back into rural communities & attempting to sabotage our communities.
